Here is picture of Akita Dog:
Akita is a large, powerful, alert, with much substance and heavy bone dog. The broad head, forming a blunt triangle, with deep muzzle, small eyes and erect ears carried forward in line with back of neck, is characteristic of the breed. The large, curled tail, balancing the broad head, is also characteristic of the breed.
Males are 26 to 28 inches at the withers; bitches are 24 to 26 inches.
Disqualification - dogs under 25 inches; bitches under 23 inches.
The Akita is a large, powerful dog. The dog has a distinctive double coat with medium length guard hairs and a soft dense undercoat, which is shed once or twice a year. Any color is acceptable.
The Akitas temperament is alert and responsive. Rarely is hyperactivity a problem. Some Akitas can become very lethargic in hot weather. Though highly intelligent, the Akita’s independent nature provides a challenge to most trainers. Most Akitas show aggressive tendencies toward other dogs.
By nature the Akita is a guard dog with an aloof attitude towards strangers. Although most Akitas are very tolerant of children, the size and strength of this breed make it a potential danger. The Akita is usually docile and quiet, needing only a moderate amount of exercise. Fiercely loyal, the Akita prefers human company to that of other animals and is not happy when separated from his family
