French Bulldog
Dog - French Bulldog Breed. Puppy French Bulldog rescue.
The French Bulldog is a dog breed that first emerged in France in the mid- to late 19th century
Here a picture of French Bulldog:
History:
The breed emerged as English Bulldogs were bred with Toy Bulldogs by the artisan community in Paris, after Toy Bulldogs were marginalized by British kennel clubs as weakening the English Bulldog breed.
While theories abound about the the exact origin of the French Bulldog, the most prevalent opinion is that around the mid 1800’s Normandy lace workers from England took smalle bulldogs with them when they sought work in France. In the farming communities north of France that the lace workers settled in, the little Bulldogs became very popular as ratters and loyal family companions and their population began to swell. French ladies of the evening were known to carry French bulldogs around town as a discreet sign of their profession.

The French Bulldog is a member of the utility group. They were originally bred as bull baiters and ratters and today they are companions and seen in the show ring.
History: The French Bulldog was originally developed in England as a miniature version of the English Bulldog. In the 1860’s, French dog breeders imported some of these very small Bulldogs from Great Britain and bred them with French Terriers. People in France greatly admired the imports and this led to the name French Bulldog.
Appearance: This is a sturdy little Bulldog with large, erect, rounded, bat ears, a flat, powerful muzzle and a pug nose.  The French bulldog has a large, square head with round, dark eyes that are set wide apart and low on the skull. Short and well-rounded, the body of this breed includes a broad chest. The tail can be straight or screwed, and it is carried low when the dog is at rest. Short and smooth, the coat is quite fine and comes in a variety of colors including brindle, fawn, and white, or brindle and white.
Size: Height: 12 inches (30cm)
There are two weight classes of French Bulldog: 19-22 (9-10kg.) pounds and 22-28 pounds (10-13kg.). Over 28 pounds is a disqualification.
Temperament: The French Bulldog is a gentle breed that typically has a happy-go-lucky attitude. Like many other companion dog breeds they require close contact with humans. They are affectionate, intelligent little dogs that tend to “bulldoze” small children, and may knock them down unintentionally. The Frenchie cannot be owned and ignored. They are fairly willful, but can be trained if the owner is patient. They respond to patient, consistent training that DOES NOT include hitting or harsh jerking.
Health: French Bulldogs are prone to eye and respiratory problems. If too overweight, the French Bulldog  may have trouble breathing, because of a swollen abdomen. Sometimes bitches must deliver by Cesarean section because of the puppies’ large heads.
Life expectancy: 9-12 years
Grooming: The French Bulldog is easy to groom. They can be groomed using a rubber-grooming mitt, which will remove loose and dead hair. The wrinkles on the face should be checked and kept clean.
Puppy price: $900.00 - $2.000.00
