History:

The breed’s name is German. The Dachshund is a short legged, elongated dog breed of the hound family.. With each of these varieties there are three mini sizes.
Dachshund  come in three coat varieties: Smooth, Longhaired, and Wirehaired; the Wirehaired variety is generally shorter in spine length than the other two.
Unfortunately, some of these colors require extensive inbreeding to obtain, and double dapples are often born eyeless or with severely underdeveloped eyes.Color aside, this eyes condition has led to the double dapple coat being extremely disfavored among responsible breeders and owner.

Temperament:
Dachshundy are best with older, considerate children and are moderately protective. Dachshunds are good dogs to travel with. Though still sometimes used as a working dog, today they are more commonly kept as companions .The Dachshund is known for his deep and soulful eyes and complex and telling facial expressions, the eyes having an “allure” that is quite commonly referenced in writings about the breed.
Life Expectancy: About 12-15 years.
